Tell us what's on your list
We start by reviewing the site and the requests you already have. That includes urgent problems, work you've put off, and anything another developer or vendor is handling.
If new requests come up every month, a WordPress development retainer can reserve time for them alongside maintenance. We'll agree on the capacity and tasks included, who approves changes, and which requests need a separate estimate.
What ongoing support can include
Site upkeep
Review core, theme, and plugin updates in a safe environment. Check important forms and page templates, verify the backup and recovery process, and record anything that needs separate repair.
Planned development
Build new page patterns, repair integrations, improve editing controls, and address accessibility findings. A development retainer reserves capacity for an agreed backlog; it is different from an update-only plan.
Content and publishing
Help your team publish campaigns, program updates, news, and resources using consistent templates. Assign a content approver and check links, headings, images, and forms before release.
A record of the work
Keep a record of completed work, open issues, access, and upcoming changes. Coordinate with hosting and other vendors so your team knows who is handling each problem.
How we take over support
First, we review the WordPress setup, hosting, account access, and any known problems. We need to know how changes are tested and how the site can be restored if something goes wrong.
Then we agree on the initial work and a way to submit requests. We agree with you on which changes need review before release, and keep a record of completed work and outstanding issues.
We revisit the list with you as priorities change. A campaign deadline or a broken donation form may need attention before a planned design improvement.
What does the monthly agreement cover?
We put monthly capacity, response hours, approvals, and hosting and security responsibilities in the support agreement. Routine updates and a new feature are different kinds of work; you should know which are included before sending a request.
If account access or publishing approvals are unclear, start with our website governance guide. For a larger rebuild, explore custom WordPress development.
